Flintoff returns home to undergo surgery

Andrew Flintoff has returned home from the Indian Premier League to undergo surgery on a torn meniscus in his right knee.

Flintoff had been appearing for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL when he felt discomfort in his right knee. The Chennai medical staff immediately contacted ECB's chief medical officer Dr Nick Peirce. Scans were taken of the right knee in a Durban hospital and they detected a slight medial meniscal tear and after these were viewed by Peirce it was decided that Flintoff should return to London.

He will undergo an operation early next week and surgeons are confident that he should recover from the keyhole surgery within three to five weeks.

IPL harbouring bowlers with suspect actions

When Shane Warne suggested he had found India a new, highly lethal left-arm fast bowler by the name of Kamran Khan, expectations were that here would be someone special.

After all, this is Shane Warne right. He would know what he is saying. He had been one of the great bowlers of the last century as well as the first decade of this one with his leg-spin. He wouldn't make such false claims either unless this guy had something special.

Warne's faith is my strength: Kamran Khan

New Delhi:
After guiding Rajasthan Royals to
victory in an edge-of-the-seat thriller against Kolkata Knight Riders,
paceman Kamran Khan said skipper Shane Warne's vouch for his ability
gave him extra spunk which helped the rookie to hold nerves at the
dying moments.

Kamran dismissed Sourav Ganguly in the final over of
Thursday's IPL match when two runs were required off as many
deliveries. The proceedings had to be decided through 'Super Over'
after the match was tied.

Warne heaps praise on young Kamran

Cape Town: Rajasthan Royals captain Shane Warne had warned of unleashing a 'wild thing' in this year's Indian Premier League.

Kamran Khan proved true to the nickname given by his captain as he saw the team through in two tense overs against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Warne's surprise choice of Kamran, who is still to play first-class cricket, for the last over of the innings and then the Super Over raised many eyebrows.

But the 18-year-old rookie showed a cool temperament and loads of guile to stop the Knight Riders from scoring six runs off the last over despite an in-form Sourav Ganguly looking good to reach the victory target.

cricket is a religion, Sachin is God

Every year on his birthday we keep wondering how long Sachin Tendulkar [Images] will continue playing for India. The master batsman turned 36 on Friday, and going by his recent performances in New Zealand [Images] and the ongoing Indian Premier League [Images], it seems he is still good for a some more years.

Former India captain Nari Contractor on Friday paid tribute to the Little Master and expressed hope of him guiding the country to the title in the 2011 World Cup.
